Qualifier: /satellite=

Definition : identifier for a satellite DNA marker, compose of many tandem repeats (identical or related)

of a short basic repeated unit;

Value format: “<satellite_type>[:<class>][ <identifier>]”

where satellite_type is one of the following:

“satellite”, “microsatellite”, “minisatellite” 

Example:

/satellite=”satellite: S1a”

/satellite=”satellite: alpha”

/satellite=”satellite: gamma III”

/satellite=”microsatellite: DC130″ 

Comment: many satellites have base composition or other properties that differ from those of the rest of

the genome that allows them to be identified.
